What are Aloha Aina Blessings?

ALOHA

“Aloha” is a dynamic word with many interpretations. One translation is ‘love’ which embodies mutual regard and affection and extends warmth in caring with no obligation in return. “Aloha” is the essence of relationships in which each person is important to every other person for collective existence. “Aloha” means to hear what is not said, to see what cannot be seen and to know the unknowable.

The "Aloha Spirit" is a Hawaiian concept that embodies a deep sense of love, compassion, respect, and kindness towards others, essentially representing a way of life that emphasizes positive interactions, community unity, and a connection to the land, going far beyond just saying "hello" with the word "Aloha" which means "love" in Hawaiian; it's considered a core value in Hawaiian culture and is even codified as a law in the state of Hawaii.

ALOHA AINA:

The concept of aloha ʻāina, or love of the land, teaches that if you take care of the land, it will take care of you.

HAWAIIAN BLESSINGS:

A "Hawaiian Blessing" is a traditional ceremony, often led by a spiritual leader called a "Kahu", that invokes positive energy and seeks protection for a person, place, or event by calling upon the spirits of the land and ancestors, essentially signifying a cleansing of negative energy and a request for good fortune and well-being; it's often accompanied by chants and the presentation of a lei, symbolizing love and respect.
